Colby Evans, a dermatologist at Evans Dermatology, plans to expand the practice this year to offer customers care in South Austin and Kyle.

Office manager Sara Evans said the 9701 Brodie Lane, Suite A-106, office has been open for seven years.

"We've continued to see this practice grow," she said. "We already serve a lot of patients who live in Kyle and in the 78704 area."

A second location at 3508 S. Lamar Blvd, Ste. 300, is slated to open toward the end of August, and a third location will open in mid-November at 20871 N. I-35 in Kyle near the existing Hays Surgical Center.

The company has also hired two new dermatologists—doctors Michael Rains and Venessa Pea-Robichaux—to aid in the expansion.

Evans Dermatology focuses on medical rather than cosmetic dermatology, Evans said. The practice sees patients who have skin cancer as well as acne and psoriasis. Doctors recommend patients wear at least SPF 30 sunscreen when outside and apply it liberally.

"I think it's a common mistake that people don't put on enough sunscreen," she said. "If you live in Texas you should be going through more than a bottle every summer."
