Torchy's Tacos plans to open a location with an all-new design unlike that of any of its other locations in spring 2015 at 1822 S. Congress Ave.
The Tex-Mex chain's new restaurant, located in the former
Fran's Hamburgers spot, will feature a dining room, full bar and sidewalk seating, as well as a "visual" architectural exterior and new signage, according to Brittany Platt, marketing director.
"We're going to consider this our flagship store," she said. "When people are coming to Austin, we want them to see this location. This is the new look and kind of the new format for all of our stores, including the bar and our signature menu."
The South Congress restaurant will have 34 parking spots including on-site and street parking, Platt said. Construction is scheduled to begin in January.
