It has only been three months since Monster Performance Cycles opened on Mueschke Road, but the business is already looking to hire more employees to keep up with a demand that is far exceeding expectations.

"Our business has been tripling on a weekly basis," co-owner Mickey Caddell said. "We've been getting two or three bikes a day."

The business is run as a partnership between Caddell, David Kramer and Jay Antonelli, with each partner filling a different role in keeping the shop running. A full service shop, Monster's services include repairs, performance packages, dyno tuning and custom fabrication, all of which are done on-site.

Antonelli, the shop's master certified technician, has been working on Harley-Davidson bikes for 17 years, but the shop takes in motorcycles from all manufacturers. The owners are looking to bring in a metric technician to work full time and have another technician in training.

Caddell said the decision to open the shop came after he noticed a lack of local motorcycle mechanics in an area experiencing residential growth.

"People needed something like this out here," he said. "It's Texas, so everyone likes to ride bikes."

The business also offers "Hometown Hero" discounts of 10 percent to military, firefighters, police and schoolteachers.
