According to early voting totals, William Beard is leading the race for Place 6 in the Lake Travis ISD board of trustees election, with 72.65 percent, or 927 votes, to candidate David Lovelace with 27.35 percent, or 349 votes.

Beard, a patent attorney, and Lovelace, an engineer, faced off for the seat left vacant by former LTISD trustee Fred Goff.

The board's uncontested Place 7 position is filled by Dr. Dawn Buckingham, who replaces former trustee Robert Brewer.

LTISD board members are elected at large—meaning each trustee represents the entire school district rather than only one subsection—and serve for a three-year term.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.
