Traffic alert: Segments of northbound Dallas Parkway closed morning of May 3

A bicycle race will mean segments of northbound Dallas Parkway and other roads in the area will be closed from 6:30–10 a.m. May 3.

According to the city of Frisco communications office, the race starts in Plano and will travel north into Frisco on Parkwood Boulevard, west on IKEA Drive, then north on Dallas Parkway to US 380.

The northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road will be closed between Eldorado Parkway and US 380. Alternate routes include the Dallas North Tollway or Preston Road. Motorists on Eldorado Parkway and Panther Creek will be able to enter the northbound tollway only by turning south on Dallas Parkway, making a u-turn at Main Street and using the entrance ramp just north of Main Street.

The northbound exit ramps from the DNT to Panther Creek and to CR 24/Rockhill Parkway will be closed.

Cobb Hill Drive will be closed between Dallas Parkway and Bethel Drive. Cobb Hill residents should use Eldorado Parkway or Panther Creek Parkway.

Police department officials will be controlling the intersections between IKEA Drive and Eldorado Parkway to help the cyclists navigate through town. Police will also be controlling the intersections along Parkwood Boulevard where the race enters Frisco and the Dallas Parkway/US 380 intersection where the race will continue north into Prosper.

City officials are urging drivers to be cautious.
