Candidates for the Emergency Services District No. 9 board—the governing body of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department—will participate in a forum at 7:30 p.m. May 1 at Copperfield Church.
Five commissioners who are either residents or business owners in the district are elected to serve on the board of ESD No. 9 for four-year terms. Voters will have the chance to select three of the five positions on the board from 11 candidates during the May 10 election.
The 11 candidates will appear on the ballot in the following order:

Early voting will take place from April 28–May 6 at the ESD Administrative Building at 9630 Telge Road. The polls will be open May 10 on Election Day from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and voters must go to their specific polling location based on their voter identification card:

The Cy-Fair VFD covers about 165 square miles in northwest Harris County, including most of the land within Cy-Fair ISD boundaries. ESD No. 9 is responsible for collecting taxes so the district can fund the delivery of services for the fire department. The ESD board members are also responsible for managing the department's annual budget.
