Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott will issue an opinion in September regarding whether single-use bag ordinances violate the Texas Health and Safety Code.

State Rep. Dan Flynn, R-Canton, asked Abbott to weigh in on the ordinances in a Feb. 27 letter.

The cities of Sunset Valley and Austin have single-use bag ordinances. City staff briefed the Sunset Valley City Council at its March 18 meeting.
