The Emmitt Smith Golf Challenge, a series of regional events at top-rated golf courses from January through April, will make a stop March 3 at The Hills of Lakeway golf course, 26 Club Estates Parkway, Austin.

The event raises money for the Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities, which assistswith educational and other opportunities for children to help increasetheir chances for success.

The entry fee for the event is $200 per player and as of Feb. 27, the Lakeway location had raised more than $14,000. The Clubs of Kingwood in Kingwoodraised nearly $23,000 for its Jan. 20 event.

The highest-fundraising team and best golfers from each tournament will be invited to join the Emmitt Smith Celebrity Invitationala two-day event May 910 in Dallas.
