District staff will continue to monitor weather for Feb. 7 and will provide additional updates as necessary, according to a news release.

Austin ISD schools and offices will operate on a two-hour delay Feb. 6 as a result of weather and road conditions.

Buses will also operate on a two-hour delay, and tardies for students and staff members will be excused because of the inclement weather circumstances, according to a district news release.

On Feb. 5, the National Weather Service indicated the Austin area could experience some rain and potential freezing temperatures Feb. 6 and 7. AISD said it will continue monitoring conditions and will communicate any changes to its schedule to families and staff.

The school district will send direct messages to employees, parents and caregivers via its phone, text and email notification system as well as on social media. Parents with questions about transportation can call AISD's transportation department between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. at 512-414-0238, and updates will be available at www.austinisd.org.
