2014 has arrived, and some of you may have made New Year's resolutions. I prefer to make a list of things I want to accomplish each year, and as the year comes to a close it's interesting to see what I have completed on my list. Community Impact Newspaper's January Issue is very much the same—it gives our readers an opportunity to see what transpired in 2013 and also a sneak preview of 2014.

In 2013 we saw the completion of the DFW Connector, which was a welcomed relief for us all, especially in Grapevine. The city of Colleyville approved a first-ever five-year comprehensive capital improvements program, and Southlake became the home for Forest Park Medical Center and Del Frisco's Grille. Starting on Page 8, you will find a list of city accomplishments in our City & County update as well as a look into each city's 2014 plans.

Our transportation update on Page 13 provides insight into area road construction projects for 2014. Included in this update are roadway costs, completion dates and also how you can keep up with road closures, detours and changes. This information can come in handy when planning your daily commute.

In this issue you can also revisit a few of your favorite business and dining profiles, photos from 2013 and get fit using our Fitness Guide.

It's been a busy 2013 for our area cities and everyone here at Community Impact Newspaper looks forward to covering your local news. We are excited to see all that unfolds during 2014.
