A portion of the North Lakeline Boulevard extension will be paved and ready for traffic in February, KB Home spokeswoman Cathy Teague said. The homebuilder and Williamson County co-funded the first 1.3 miles of the roadway extension from Crystal Falls Parkway in Leander. Williamson County paid about $1.8 million of the total $4.2 million cost for the section of road, county officials said. The four-lane road leads just beyond Mason Ranch, a new master-planned KB Home community that began constructing model homes in December, Teague said. "Land development on the first 84 lots within Mason Ranch will be completed in March, just in time for us to begin driving those 'Sold' signs into the ground," she said. "In total, Mason Ranch will have more than 980 homesites." The second section of North Lakeline Boulevard will extend two lanes to Old FM 2243. Williamson County spokeswoman Connie Watson said the $3.4 million roadway section is a joint effort between the city of Leander and Williamson County. "Construction bids for this phase are due in January," she said. "Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2014 and be complete in fall 2014."
