Coit Road —Main Street to Eldorado Parkway

Construction on the 1.5 mile section of Coit Road from Main Street to Eldorado Parkway was delayed by weather conditions in early December.

Although not yet complete, the road opened to traffic Dec. 23. It had been closed since mid-March to expedite the construction process.

The construction has expanded the road from two to four lanes and includes paving, drainage, a water transmission line, landscaping and irrigation.

Coit Road is classified as a major thoroughfare on the city's thoroughfare plan, and it is expected to eventually be expanded to six lanes when traffic dictates the necessity.

The project was funded with $3.1 million from Collin County and $3.9 million from the city of Frisco.

Eldorado Parkway—Preston to Custer

Construction is about 95 percent complete on Eldorado Parkway.

The last section, from Preston Road to Custer Road, was originally expected to be completed in November 2013, but city officials now put the estimated completion date as sometime in January 2014.

Construction began in January 2013.

Eldorado now runs six lanes all the way through Frisco city limits.

Road work also includes 700 feet of Coit Road north from the Coit Road/Eldorado Parkway intersection.

Through the last stages of construction, Eldorado is open and passable to traffic.

The $6.85 million project was funded with $3.425 million from the city of Frisco and $3.425 million from Collin County.

Stonebrook Parkway

Dallas Parkway to Preston Road

An end is in sight to the construction on Stonebrook Parkway, from Dallas Parkway to Preston Road.

Before it is finished, however, a traffic switch is expected sometime in early February at Stonebrook and Parkwood.

City officials said the project is 75 percent complete and on schedule to be finished in spring 2014.

The project widened Stonebrook to six lanes from the Dallas North Tollway to Preston Road.

The project also included installing a 36-inch water line and extending and widening turn lanes, along with additional paving projects.

The $12.1 million project is funded by the city of Frisco.

Main Street—Preston to Custer

The road project on Main Street from Preston Road to Custer Road is still in the early stages of construction.

City officials estimate it is 15 percent complete and are aiming for a summer 2015 completion date.

The project to widen the road from two lanes to four began in June, and road crews will alternate working on the north and south sides of the road as construction progresses.

Although it is a Texas Department of Transportation project, TxDOT works closely with the city of Frisco.

TxDOT is funding about $23.8 million for the road and the city of Frisco is funding $2.75 million.
