Cold conditions have canceled the Christmas Stroll parade scheduled for Dec. 7., but other Saturday festival events will continue, according to a news release from the City of Georgetown.
Whoo-Village, Kids Zone, entertainment stages and food and craft vendors will still be set up from 5–10 p.m. Dec. 6 and 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Dec. 7. Santa Claus will also arrive on a fire truck on Austin Avenue at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 and spend the day at All Things Kids, 703 S. Main St.
Blue Santa donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted by Blue Santa himself at All Things Kids from 4–8 p.m. Dec. 9 instead of during the parade as planned.
Inclement weather also led to the cancellation of the Dec. 7 Trout Fishing Derby, which has been postponed to Jan. 11.
