The Frisco Public Library is expanding its hours beginning the first full week in January.
The new hours will be 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.
The new schedule will add six hours per week, opening an hour earlier on weekdays and staying open an hour later on Sunday.
Library Director Shelley Holley said the extra hour on Sunday will accommodate the regular student crowd who has homework to complete for the next week.
Because the streets around Frisco Square are often blocked on Saturday mornings for 5K races and other city events, opening earlier on Saturday was not a viable option, Holley said.
