The Prickly Pair Collectics will host its second vendor market Nov. 2 in an effort to provide a place to bring the Cypress community together.
Dubbed as Prickly Pair Saturday, Bonnie Beaty and Catrina Hull—the mother and daughter who own the shop—launched the event Oct. 5 and plan to keep it going for at least the remainder of 2013 on the first Saturday of each month.
"As Cypress is growing and expanding, we want to keep that connection in the community," Hull said. "We want people to come out and experience life together with their family and community and be able to make the memories and enjoy the day."
During the November market, the Backyard Grill will be grilling on-site, and Nann's Cupcake Kitchen will be offering dessert in the shop's kitchen area. More than 15 local vendors will be set up on the front lawn of the Prickly Pair offering items such as jewelry, home dcor, baked goods and antiques. The Prickly Pair will also be open during the market, so visitors can browse and purchase items for sale.
"We're also going to have a photographer out here to take pictures and capture those memories for people," Hull said.
For future Prickly Pair Saturday events, Hull and Beaty are looking into the possibility of having classic cars on display along with other options to cater to the entire family and local businesses.
"Before we opened the shop, I didn't know anything about small businesses," Hull said. "My eyes were opened to how many small business owners there are around here, and I think there needs to be a way for people to come together to support them and to support each other."
Local businesses interested in reserving a space at the event can call 832-334-5342 or email the shop via the website www.pricklypaircollectics.com. A 10-by-10-foot space costs $15, while a 20-by 20-foot space is $25.
Prickly Pair Saturday lasts from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 14226 Huffmeister Road.
