Several new restaurants are set to open in the next three to five months inside the West Eight Crossing development at Beltway 8 and West Road.
Salata, Chipotle, Potbelly and Smoothie King have leased space in the 15,000-square-foot development, which will consist of two buildings.
"The two buildings will be aligned with each other and create a central patio for several restaurant tenants in the middle," said David Meyers, director of leasing and partner with NewQuest Properties.
Made Ya Smile Dentistry and a nail spa have also leased space in the upcoming development, Meyers said. The development is almost 100 percent pre-leased, with one 1,500-square-foot space left.
The new businesses will help fill a restaurant void in the area, which has seen a lot of office development in the past few years, Meyers said.
"You've got a lot of offices currently being developed from I-10 to Hwy. 249 off Beltway 8, and that corridor has seen a strong concentration of office space over the last two or three years," he said. "There's also a good concentration of residential development on both sides of the Beltway, so this [area] becomes a more convenient stop for a lot of people."
