The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce announced on Oct. 9 plans to relocate its offices to a new office location on Lake Woodlands. The Chamber will move next summer to an office at 9320 Lakeside Blvd., Building 2.
The building is part of the Research Forest Lakeside project developed by Warmack Properties. The Chamber offices, along with The South Montgomery County Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership, have been located in an office at 1400 Woodloch Forest Drive for more than 30 years.
The Chamber's lease at the Woodloch Forest building expires in October 2014 and, according to the Chamber, the organization has been looking for a new home since 2011.
"It's really for our community to have us in a central location where there is a lot of activity," said Chamber president Karen Hoylman. "[The new office] is exciting and [provides] great visibility for members and guests—to see us there, to have accessibility to our meeting rooms and our information."
The new office will include 18,000 square feet and will floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Lake Woodlands.
The Woodlands EDP works to recruit business to The Woodlands area, and also retain businesses that operate in the community.
"It is important to be able to show to our clients who want to relocate here our wonderful community," said Gil Staley, CEO of the EDP
