The city of Cedar Park, the Cedar Park 4B community development corporation and Williamson County are partnering to extend BMC Drive near Brushy Creek Loop.

On Aug. 22, City Council will review a 1.42 acre right-of-way acquisition with BMC West Corp. that, if approved, will be one of the final transactions before construction, which should begin by the end of 2013, said Larry Holt, Cedar Park economic development manager. Once started, roadway construction will take approximately six months to complete, he said.

"It opens up that whole area for further development," Holt said. "We are excited about this project. One piece of property that is currently landlocked will have entirely new accessibility."

Half of the $1 million transportation project is funded by the county, with $250,000 coming from the city's 4B corporation and $250,000 from the general fund.
