The Westlake Fire Department, which serves the cities of Rollingwood, West Lake Hills and surrounding areas in Travis County, is slated to move its administrative offices at the end of September, Fire Chief Mike Elliott said.

Elliott said that the department is relocating from 248 Addie Roy Road, Ste. 103, Bldg. B, Austin, to a 2,775-square-foot suite at the Capital View Center, 1301 S. Capital of Texas Hwy., Ste. B123, Austin. The new space will house fire chiefs and administrators including office benefits and emergency prevention personnel.

Elliott said that the new office, located next to the Westlake fire station, is more convenient for the firefighters.

"We've been leasing for over 10 years and our board bought [the space]," Elliott said. "We thought we might build a new station at one point and put the administrative offices there but we're not doing that."

The department will continue to receive mail at P.O. Box 162170, Austin, TX 78716, Elliott said.

Also known as Emergency Services District No. 9, the Westlake Fire Department operates an additional station at 1109 Westlake Drive in West Lake Hills.
