The City of Round Rock announced June 4 an incentive for residents who collect rainwater.

For every gallon of water storage, residents can earn 50 cents, with a cap of $250 per year on residential water accounts. In order to qualify for the rebate, the city requires residents to have rainwater storage containers that are new, made specifically for rainwater collection and not purchased from any prior city event, sale or giveaway, according to a city news release.

The rebate will end on Sept. 15, or whenever funds are spent. The city requires a final inspection for all customers. To apply for the rebate, visit www.roundrocktexas.gov/docs/rwh_rebate_application_2013.pdf
