According to the Texas Department of Transportation, there will be multiple frontage road lane closures as construction on several sections of Hwy. 290 progresses. All but two sections of the Hwy. 290 expansion project have been awarded to contractors, and work between Loop 610 and Hwy. 6 in Cypress is expected to be complete by 2017.

One inbound and outbound alternate lane on the Hwy. 290 frontage road between West Road and Cypress-Rosehill will be closed until 5 p.m. May 31.

One westbound outside lane on the Hwy. 290 frontage road between Senate Avenue and FM 529 will be closed from 7 a.m.–4 p.m. until May 24.

Two outbound frontage road lanes between W. 34th Street and Antoine Drive will be closed until June 30.
