The 9th annual Houston's Wine & Food Week returns to The Woodlands June 3–9 with a variety of festivities and events designed to attract food and wine lovers.

Wine & Food Week events feature more than 500 wines, food from 50 restaurants, collections of craft beers, gourmet food vendors and appearances from wine and culinary producers around the world. Guests can participate in wine education classes, cookbook author events, live and silent auctions, chef demonstrations and wine-and-dine experiences.

The week-long extravaganza offers more than 10 events for patrons with wine experience ranging from novice to enthusiast level. The week kicks off June 3 with a Wine Wizard seminar at 6 p.m. and a dinner event at 7 p.m. within the MAIN Restaurant at MainStreet America. Land Rover Houston North will host an "It's a Guy Thing" event June 4 from 5:30–7 p.m. to offer samples of wines, craft beer and treats from the New Orleans Shrimp House and a visit with Super Bowl champion Jarvis Green.

The wine and food tasting festivities will continue June 5 from 6–9 p.m. at La Lupita Mexican Cuisine and Bar on The Woodlands Waterway with the "Women & Wine with Kathy Womack" event. Womack offers her award-winning artwork on display, and will sign autographs on art pieces.

H-E-B hosts a Wine Walk June 6 from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at 9595 Six Pines Drive that combines shopping, wine sampling, food tasting and live entertainment. The Club at Carlton Woods presents a reception tasting with a multi-course luncheon June 7 from noon–3 p.m. Guests can also take part in a "Sips, Suds and Siders" event June 7 from 5:30–9:30 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

Many events will wrap up Wine & Food Week on June 8. The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center hosts will a Wizards Conduct Court at 1 p.m., Denman Moody heads "The Advanced Oenophile Seminar" at 3 p.m., and a Platinum Wine Vault Tasting event takes place from 4:30–6:30 p.m. A final Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase closes out the week's activities from 7–10 p.m. at the Hotel & Convention Center featuring chefs from across the country and a presentation of 500 wines.

Emily Ellyn, seen in the television show "Food Network Star," hosts Wine & Food Week as the 2013 Wizard Gourmet and will take part in several events. Ellyn and Tim Hanni, one of two Americans to earn the first Master of Wine and certified wine educator title, will be the Masters of Ceremonies at the Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase. Hanni will also be present during the week's festivities to oversee "Wine Wizard" duties.

Events and auctions throughout the week benefit Swing for a Cure and the Signature Series Literacy Education efforts of the John Cooper School. The community can pre-register and sign up for Wine & Food Week events online.
