The City of Cedar Park is asking its residents to weigh in on the future of the city through a new website, www.imaginecedarpark.com, which launched April 8.

The website allows residents to provide feedback about parks, transportation, future land use, economic development and other topics.

"Cedar Park has long been a 'planning city' and our new Comprehensive Plan will be the City Council's road map for years to come," Mayor Matt Powell said. "I encourage residents to actively participate and help us determine what's next for our city."

Similar to social networking sites such as Facebook, residents can add ideas to different topics and comment on others' ideas. The site also measures and tracks participation to identify the most interested citizens and most compelling topics.

The new community engagement campaign is part of the city's comprehensive planning process, led by a group of citizen volunteers on the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee. The committee meets monthly to develop a blueprint for future decision-making.
