Georgetown is getting its first food truck trailer park. Casey's Food Court, located at 903 N. Church St., is expected to open April 5 near San Gabriel Park.

Joseph Aubin, owner of J. Paul Aubin Real Estate, is developing the site, which could eventually become the home of up to seven food trailers.

"We've been working with the city for the past six months, and we just got approval [March 15] from the planning department to open this up," said August Higgins, marketing director for J. Paul Aubin Real Estate. "They worked with us, and we've had some positive feedback about it."

Higgins said the food court will open with five or six trailers and feature barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, cupcakes and desserts, and tacos.

"We know that Round Rock has had some pretty good success with their food parks, and we thought this would be a good way to be a part of something new and trendy in the Austin area but is still in line with Georgetown culture," Higgins said. "Hopefully this is a really good thing for people to come and hang out and have a good place for outdoor eating and fun right next to the park."

The park, which is expected to be open daily from 10 a.m.–10 p.m., will feature picnic tables, and Higgins said the park may eventually host live music or other special events.
