During its Feb. 5 meeting, the Travis County Commissioners Court considered code variances related to Lake Travis ISD's construction of a new middle school.

The court planned to vote on the variances Feb. 12.

Among the variances sought by LTISD were: To add a storm sewer outlet headwall in a waterway setback, To allow land grading changes greater than 8 feet in order to build the school, and to allow construction without posting construction fiscal security for erosion.

County staff recommended that the court approve all three variances, according to background documents.

The plan for the school, to be located at 4932 Bee Creek Road in the Lakeway ETJ, includes driveways, sports fields, utilities, water quality controls and detention structures, according to background documents.
