The Hutto ISD board of trustees unanimously voted to extend Superintendent Doug Killian's employment contract for one year during a special called meeting Jan. 24.

"He models the passion and desire that our district has for inspiring excellence in academics, character and community, and because of that, I want him to continue to lead our district," board Secretary Billie Logiudice said.

Killian said he saw the decision as a vote of confidence and plans to continue working to improve the district.

"What I'm really looking forward to is the opportunity to focus on things other than finance, and take Hutto ISD from the good district that it is to the great district that it will be," Killian said.
