Cedar Park drivers can expect road closures this weekend because of a parade and a race near Cedar Park High School.

On Saturday, Cypress Creek Road between Cedar Park High School and Elizabeth Milburn Park is scheduled to be closed from 2–4 p.m to celebrate the success of CPHS during the 2012 football season. A parade honoring the 4A Division II football team, which defeated Lancaster on Dec. 21 in the state championship game, begins at 3 p.m., followed by a ceremony at Milburn Park.

On Sunday, the Rogue Running 30K and 10K Race begins and ends at CPHS. James Dodds, director of training at Rogue Running, said about 1,100 people are expected to participate in the race, which takes runners on a loop around Cedar Park. Proceeds from the race benefit the Cedar Park Parks and Recreation Department as well as the Cedar Park Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association.

The earliest closure Sunday is to occur at Anderson Mill Road at 6:40 a.m. All roads on the course, which include Little Elm Trail, Cypress Creek Trail and Lakeline Boulevard, are to close by 8:10 a.m., though most roads allow for limited access.

Drivers will be able to access all roads again by noon on Sunday. For a complete list of closures, click here.
