Cedar Park club offers drinks, dancing

Two-stepping and long-necking is the business of Wild West, the bar and nightclub that opened Sept. 28 in Cedar Park.

Open Wednesday through Saturday, the venue hosts local musicians and bands including Randy Rogers, Kyle Park, Reckless Kelly and Jason Boland. But Marketing Director Mark Easterling said a disc jockey is in-house most of the time.

"Live entertainment is a complement to the DJ, and it's our desire to work up to having it maybe twice a month. So far we've been featuring that on Thursdays," he said. "The majority of what we spin is country. In an hour we probably spin 70 [percent]–75 percent country music as well as popular dance music from other genres."

Wild West offers specials and contests, including an opportunity to win a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The 11,000-square-foot venue can be rented out for parties and has 10 full-service bars, enough to serve crowds during busy nights.

"We've been wonderfully embraced by the people of Cedar Park and the surrounding area," he said. "We have wanted to be in the area for years, and we are ever so happy to be here now."

Wild West is one of a handful of bars by the same name throughout Texas, all operated by different individuals, Easterling said.
