School opens first location in Lakeway

Spanish immersion school Jardn de Nios opened its third location at 107 RR 620, Ste. 300, on Jan. 4. The school, which already has two locations in Austin, is open to students from age 3 to kindergarten and is expected to expand to third grade during the Lakeway location's second year.

Tracy Marie Price has been named the director of the new Lakeway school, said Adriana Rodriguez, Jardn de Nios executive director and founder.

All three schools are in the final steps of gaining International Baccalaureate certification. IB is a nonprofit organization that helps administrators and teachers further develop education for international mindedness and other key aspects.

Along with Spanish immersion, the school introduces students to French and Mandarin while maintaining small class sizes. The school incorporates cultural-minded lessons based on other cultures—including food, traditions and music, Rodriguez said.
