On Dec. 13, Austin City Council approved in the consent agenda an interlocal agreement with the state to move water and wastewater lines in conflict with the Hwy. 290 improvements at William Cannon Drive, Joe Tanner Road and Hwy. 71, also known as the Y at Oak Hill. The agreement is expected to cost $971,856.
According to meeting documents, the project will include:
- 2,535 feet of 16-inch water line pipe
- 738 feet of 6-inch water line
- 14 gate valves
- 11 fire hydrants
- 3 wastewater manholes
- 377 feet of 8-inch wastewater line
- 42 feet of 6-inch wastewater line.
The documents estimate that the Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin the contracting process in July and may begin work in December 2013.
