Qualifying rounds for the Formula One United States Grand Prix drew 82,710 fans to the track, according to race officials. More than 35,000 of those fans were already on-site by 10:30 a.m.
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull claimed the pole position for Sunday's race. Vettel recorded the fastest lap time of 1:35.657, with Lewis Hamilton of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes placing second with a time of 1:35.766. Vettel's teammate, Mark Webber, took the third spot with a time of 1:36.174, according to race officials.
The day's events also included two Ferrari Challenge races, a race among historic Grand Prix vehicles and several live music shows.
The U.S. Grand Prix race concludes Nov. 18 with prerace events beginning at 12:30 p.m. and the race set for a 1 p.m. start.
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. Country musician Clay Walker is scheduled to perform a free concert for fans in the Grand Plaza following the F1 race.
