Georgetown Municipal Judge Randy Stump was recognized as an Outstanding Jurist by the Texas Municipal Courts Association.

TMCA highlighted Stump's "outstanding contribution to the fair and impartial administration of justice" at its annual meeting, a Nov. 6 news release said. Stump has served the city as municipal judge since 1999.

"Judge Stump is recognized not only as a role model for youth before his court, but also to judges and court support personnel observing his work," the association said in the release. "He is a reminder of the value of firm yet enthusiastic leadership from the bench."

In addition to serving as municipal judge, Stump is also involved in the Teen Court program, which won awards in 2008 and 2010.
