High school students will come up with questions to ask Austin City Council and Austin ISD candidates during the South Austin Civic Club's 21st Student/AISD-ACC Candidate Forum on Oct. 24.

Seniors from six high schools attended by South Austin students will participate, according to SACC President Chong Shin.

"This is a competition [among] the high schools to ask the best questions of the candidates," he said, explaining judges will rank the questions and delivery, and the winning school gets a traveling trophy.

Adding a new twist this year, SACC is also taking questions from club members before the event. The forum begins at 6 p.m. in the Covington Middle School auditorium at 3700 Convict Hill Road.
