The registration deadline for the Nov. 6 election is Oct. 9.
Who is eligible?
Voters must be age 18 or older on Election Day, citizens of the United States and residents of the counties in which they are registered to vote. They cannot have felony convictions or have been declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law.
Where do I register?
Registration applications are available online at www.sos.state.tx.us. Residents can also pick up a registration form at the Elections Office, 301 SE Inner Loop, Ste. 104, in Georgetown. Online registrations must be mailed by Oct. 9.
How do I fill out the application?
Every application requires a Texas driver's license number or a personal identification number from the Texas Department of Public Safety. If an applicant does not have either, the last four digits of his or her Social Security number can be used. If he or she does not have a Social Security number, it should be noted on the application.
Voters can visit www.sos.state.tx.us to check their registration status. Voter registration cards are mailed within 30 days of the secretary of state receiving an application.
Voters automatically receive a registration card if they have not moved from their registered address in the past two years.
