SecureNet Payment Systems, a technology company that develops payment processing software, announced Sept. 18 that it will be relocating to a new location in Northwest Austin at the Riata office park, creating as many as 200 new jobs within the next year.

SecureNet will be hiring for software development, technology and merchant support, customer service, project managing, and product development, said Greg Constantine, executive vice president of client operations for SecureNet.

The company plans to hire 50 employees by the end of 2012. Constantine said education requirements will vary, depending on level of experience and type of job.

Constantine said the growth will potentially have a "positive, long-term effect" on Northwest Austin residents, as the company plans to be involved in local charities and organizations.

"One of the reasons we chose Austin is because of the plethora of talent in the area," Constantine said.

The innovation and technology center is part of SecureNet's growth initiative, as it will also open a location in Silicon Valley in California to serve as a satellite sales office.

SecureNet's location at 8834 N. Capital of Texas Hwy., Ste. 300, has served as a sales, marketing and product development office. The new innovation center will absorb those departments and serve as a central hub for the company.

"Austin and Silicon Valley are a perfect fit for SecureNet's future as they are home to top technology talent ... and move us closer toward being a dominant player in the payment technology market," SecureNet CEO Brent Warrington said in a news release.

The relocation is set to take place in three to four weeks, if not earlier, Constantine said.
