Williams was elected to the position in 2002, and won re-election in 2004 and 2008.
With 62.8 percent of precincts reporting in the race for District 4 State Senator, three-time winner and incumbent Tommy Williams will be the unofficial winner with 62.14 percent of the vote, according to the Texas Secretary of State.
His opponent, Michael Galloway, earned 37.85 percent of the vote. Williams so far has received 30,729 votes while Galloway, who was the first to be elected to the District 4 seat in 1994, received 18,718 votes.
With no Democratic candidate running, the winner of the Republican Primary will be the race winner.
