It is no secret Southlake's Carroll Independent School District produced a number of state and national sports champions for the 2011-12 season.
The district's football team finished the season undefeated under the guidance of head coach Hal Wasson. The girls' and boys' swimming and diving teams earned state titles. Carroll's swim coach Kevin Murphy was named the 2011-12 National Federation of State High School Associations' Girl's Sectional Swim Coach of the Year.
The school district along with the City of Southlake and Southlake Town Square will be hosting the Dragon Parade of Champions to celebrate the district's accomplishments. The event begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 22 in Southlake Town Square's northwest parking lot near the Hwy. 114 frontage road.
The parade will continue on West Grand Avenue between the Hilton Southlake Hotel and Barnes & Noble, and will end behind the southwest parking lot of Corner Bakery Caf at 100 State St. After the parade, a spirit rally will be held on the steps of Town Hall at 1400 Main St.
Tyler's at 1420 Civic Place in Southlake Town Square will sell official T-shirts commemorating the Parade of Champions event.
