In both our cover stories this month, growth is the watchword. With ExxonMobil set to begin moving into its Spring campus in early 2014 and Noble Energy moving its headquarters to the former Hewlett Packard building in summer 2013, this entire region is going to look much different in a few years. With these large corporations comes an influx of nearly 9,000 employees into the area—employees who will be looking for places to live, shop, eat and play. Leaders in Tomball and Magnolia are not wasting time in looking for ways to capitalize on the future economic growth of the region.

The Tomball Economic Development Corporation is moving forward with plans for the city's first business and technology park, which will look to attract companies in the oil, energy and health care industries. In Magnolia, city leaders are starting the process of coming up with a 20-year comprehensive plan to shape its own growth and tap into the economic growth of the area. As both cities move forward with plans, we will be keeping you updated with follow-up stories online, so make sure to visit impactnews.com often.

Also on our website is a new entertainment blog—On the Town. The blog covers live music, dining, entertainment and events in our entire Houston coverage area of Northwest Houston, Tomball, Magnolia and The Woodlands. Whether it's a new restaurant opening in Magnolia, a live show in downtown Tomball or a list of 10 bars to hop, we will be keeping you up-to-date on fun things to do, eat or see in your own backyard.
