Corporate companies worldwide will soon have the option to store servers and IT equipment inside a 73,000-square-foot data center slated to be open on Technology Forest Boulevard this December.
The facility, which is being built by Stream Data Centers, can house the data of one, or up to three, companies. Any organization that chooses to store its data with Stream will have access to the servers and physical space through fiber connectivity.
"Every company has critical infrastructure, so as the storage and processing capacity needs of corporate America grow, so does the demand for data center space," said Anthony Bolner, senior vice president with Stream Data Centers.
Stream Data Centers chose The Woodlands for its controlled and secure environment, and its separation from flight paths and rail lines, Bolner said.
"We see The Woodlands as a very safe and stable location in the Houston market, which we wanted for the long-term," he said. "It's in the path of growth, and a significant number of Fortune 500 users are moving major facilities into and around The Woodlands."
