Twelve projects to begin in 2012, officials say

Williamson County voters approved road bonds in 2000 and 2006 that totaled $578 million. Since that time, the county has completed 98 projects and constructed 287 lane-miles of roadway, according to county documents.

Public Information Officer Connie Watson said the county has a balance of $17.7 million remaining from the 2006 bonds that it has not yet designated for specific projects.

In 2012, the county anticipates starting $40.6 million worth of road projects across all four of its precincts.
