As of the March 5 deadline, six people have filed to run for Positions 1, 4 and 5 on the Jersey Village City Council.
Position 1 incumbent Joyce Berube is ineligible to run for reelection this year due to term limits. Three candidates– Michael Mauer, Justin Ray and Jim Fields–filed to run for the open seat.
Incumbent Mark Maloy filed for another term on council. He will run against Sheri Sheppard for the Position 4 seat.
Position 5 Councilwoman Jill Klein will remain on council, as she was the only person to file for that seat.
Early voting will take place from April 30–May 8. Election Day is Saturday, May 12.
