Big decisions made in 2011
- City expands police department facility — In January, staff moved into a newly expanded 2,200-square-foot police department, which provides space for training and a bigger squad room.
- Council approves new zoning district — In May, council approved an ordinance to create Zoning District D, which will allow for the development of the city's proposed transit-oriented development south of Hwy. 290.
Top issues for 2012
- Council to select streets for improvement project — In February, council is expected to select several streets for the third phase of the city's street improvement project. The project will be paid for by the general fund reserve.
- May election to be held for three council seats — Jill Klein and Mark Maloy will be up for election in May. Joyce Berube will not be eligible for reelection due to term limits.
