Roman Forest officials will see two contested races in the Nov. 3 election, City Administrator Scott Castleberry confirmed Aug. 14.

Castleberry noted the following candidates will be running for seats on the Roman Forest City Council in November:
- Position 1: LaChrystal Ricke will run against David Mullane
- Position 3: Ray Guzman will run against Oscar Ramirez Jr.
Castleberry said Linda Stewart is running unopposed for the Position 5 seat on the council.
The election will result in at least two new faces on the city council as Mullane is the only current council member running for reelection.

The Roman Forest City Council is made up of five council members and a mayor. Both council members and the mayor serve staggered, two-year terms, according to the city’s website.
Prospective City Council members need to have lived in Texas for at least one year and in Roman Forest for at least six months before filing to run. Per the website, mayoral candidates are required to have lived in Roman Forest for at least one year prior to filing.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 election will run from Oct. 19-30, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
