Roman Forest City Council members appointed Jerry Reasner to serve in the position he vacated in March.

Council members unanimously approved the appointment during the council’s June 22 meeting.
Reasner originally vacated the position in March following the death of a family member, noting then that he would have likely had to miss more meetings if he didn’t opt to step down.
“Through a turn of events and changing in conditions, my understanding is Mr. Reasner is willing and able to reassume his position,” Mayor Pro Tem Mitchell Davis said prior to the vote. “That taken into consideration, we'd like to make the nomination that we reassign the [council position] back to its originally elected individual.”
No council members commented before voting to confirm the appointment.
Some context
In May, council members appointed Montgomery County Emergency Services District No. 7 Fire Chief Howard Rinewalt to serve in the open position, but he decided to decline the position after hearing feedback from other residents.
What’s next
Reasner will hold the position until it’s up for reelection in November.
