The city of New Braunfels has announced four finalists in the search for a new chief of police. Former police Chief Tom Wibert retired in September.
Executive recruitment firm Strategic Government Resources assisted the city in the search. The city received applications from 62 candidates, according to New Braunfels City Manager Robert Camareno.
Troy Gay, Richard Guajardo, Keith Lane and Mark Schauer are the finalists and will visit New Braunfels in the coming days to learn more about the city and continue the interview process.
Gay has served in the Austin Police Department for more than 30 years and has served as assistant chief of police since 2013.
