Candidate Nikki Shaw may be ousting Incumbent April Ryan from her District 6 City Council seat, according to unofficial voting totals.
The results
Shaw is leading the race with 952 votes to Ryan’s 578 votes, according to unofficial election results. Shaw received 644 votes in Comal County and 308 votes in Guadalupe County, while Ryan received 419 votes in Comal County and 159 votes in Guadalupe County.
How we got here
Ryan, Shaw and candidate Steven Voges were vying for the District 6 seat in May. In both Comal and Guadalupe County, Ryan received 372 votes, or 32.95% of votes and Shaw received 511 votes, or 45.26% of votes, according to official May 12 voting results. Voges received 246 votes, or 21.79% of votes. Since no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, a runoff between the two candidates with the most votes had to be held.
