Early voting for the Texas Senate District 30 special election will continue through Sept. 25 to fill the seat vacated by state Sen. Pat Fallon, R-Prosper, who was selected to replace U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Heath, on the Nov. 3 ballot.
Six candidates are vying for the District 30 seat, which represents 14 counties, including a portion of Collin County.
As of Sept. 19 in Collin County, 1,713 people have voted early, either in person or via mail-in ballot. Election day is Sept. 29. Polls will be open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 21-23 and from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 24-25. There are 11 early voting locations in Collin County. In-person voting remains available to citizens and is in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for COVID-19. According to the Collin County elections website, social distancing will be maintained, and a limited number of voters will be allowed inside each poll location at a time.
