Jan. 29: Take a historic tour

Stroll through Chestnut Square during a guided tour of six historic sites. Tours are suitable for school aged children and adults and can be modified to pique the interest of those in each group. Feb. 3: Become a wine expert

Mary Vail-Grube will host a wine and food pairing workshop at Millhouse McKinney. Attendees will learn about the different types of sparkling wine while tasting small bites of food to go with each. Feb. 3: Learn to dance

The Old Settlers Recreation Center hosts bachata nights on Thursdays, when adults ages 18 and up can learn fun and easy dance styles from the Dominican Republic. Class attendees will learn basic steps, turns and how to lead or follow with style. No partner is necessary, as dancers rotate during the class. 7-8 p.m. $10. 1201 E. Feb. 4: Dance the night away

McKinney Parks and Recreation presents the Daddy Daughter Dance at the Recreation Center at Towne Lake. Feb. 4-5: Watch a comedy competition

The Comedy Arena will host The Humor Games, an elimination-style improv comedy competition that pits the city’s best comedians against one another. Feb. 5: Zipline through nature

Feb. 5: Experience visual poetry

The Mockingbird Poetry Society will host a poetry reading at Heard-Craig Center for the Arts. Society Secretary Barry Rynk has compiled 37 poems written during the pandemic and set to visuals made by local artists. Feb. 6: Do yoga with goats

Dallas Goat Yoga will host a goat yoga session at The Stix Icehouse. The club welcomes everyone ages 5 and over to enhance their yoga experience with goats. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The event is BYOM: bring your own yoga mat, and towels will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Goats are not potty-trained animals. Feb. 12: Take a wine walk

Grab friends or a significant other and head to downtown McKinney for the Valentine’s Chocolate and Wine Walk. Lone Star Wine Cellars will provide wine for tasting. Feb. 19-26: Donate a prom dress

Stonebridge United Methodist Church will host the McKinney Prom Closet. The church will accept short and long gowns, jewelry, shoes and accessories. All gowns should be clean and on hangers.
