Several new businesses and restaurants have opened in downtown McKinney in recent months, ranging from a coffee shop to an ax-throwing venue.
The setup
The downtown McKinney-area is home to over 120 independently owned businesses, according to the city of McKinney’s website.
The businesses include restaurants serving a variety of cuisines along with wineries and dessert shops. The McKinney square is also home to a number of boutiques and shops offering products, such as clothing, antiques, home goods, art and gifts.

In addition to new businesses, the downtown area has seen other business changes including the acquisition of Hamm’s Meat and Market by McKinney residents Noah and Lacey Hester. Cocktail Creamery, an ice cream shop that serves alcohol-infused treats, also moved from its previous spot inside The Pantry Restaurant to a new location on the square.
