The J. Beard Real Estate Company announced the first tenant at Westgate Crossing, a mixed-use development slated for the northeast corner of Research Forest Drive and Egypt Lane in Magnolia, in late October. The tenant, Zanti Cucina Italiana Restaurant, purchased a 7,000 square-foot space, which will house the new restaurant concept.

"It is the first concept of its kind and will offer an authentic delicious mix of fine Italian dining with the casual, family-friendly, welcoming atmosphere of smaller dining establishments," purchaser Rodrigo Pelaez said in a statement. "We are excited to debut our restaurant as the kick-off to the Westgate Crossing development to serve families in the nearby communities."

Everson Developments will coordinate the development for the restaurant. An opening date for the eatery has not been announced.

Westgate Crossing, owned by Egypt Land Developments, spans 11 acres and includes 60,000 square feet for retail, restaurant, office, medical and professional services.

"We are excited to have Zanti Cucina Italiana Restaurant as the first of many additions to Westgate Crossing, which will offer an array of businesses for the local community to patronize," said Jeff Beard, president of The J. Beard Real Estate Company, in a statement.
